I must interject and say that adult neurogenesis is possible and neuroplasticity happens continuously. Therefore saying that neurons do not reproduce is not entirely accurate. In addition PNS neurons do indeed reproduce in some circumstances.

Or perhaps, the FDA will just increase the prices intensely. If Nootropics become highly demanded by the public, I imagine they would attempt to make it very expensive rather than demonized. Though, I could be wrong. Marijuana is still illegal.

6:35 is very misleading. Neurogenisis is the creation of new neurons, and this does happen every second of your life, while old Neurons may not produce new neurons, neurons are still being made…

I totally agree with you but the FDA is being run by BIG PHARMA in my opinion. I took pemoline for 25 years with NO problems, suddenly, well sort of, after the crappy provigil and then nuvigil arrived with their high price tag, pemoline was banned as being dangerous….shame on the FDA.
Pemoline had been on the market in the US since the mid 1970s and before that in France…it was cheap and it worked.

What do you mean? If two people are taking the same nootropic regimen and one of them understands the biochemistry of the neuro pathways and the other doesn't, they should experience the same benefits.

I agree with jazzydunks, we do reproduce new neurons, how else do we learn, form memories or create new synapses r.e plasticity? So whoever decided to put that statement in here is wrong. Yes neurons do 'die', but they also reproduce (mainly in the hippocampus!)

13:23 I had a mouth full of mercury fillings put in when I was 7 in the 1970s.
This is when I developed ADD, memory loss etc. I think ADD or ADHD is from mercury fillings, mercury in vaccines, and other heavy metals in the environment along with nutritional deficiencies. It would be wonderful at age 50 if I could turn back the clock and regain full brain function, then I could catch up on lost time and truly enjoy the little time I have left.

There is some incorrect information in here.

"agonists stimulate the production of a given neurotransmitter". No, agonists are neurotransmitters. Does seratonin causes seratonin production? That doesn't make sense. Maybe you're thinking of hormones. If I'm wrong please direct me to literature that says otherwise and I promise to read it and change my comment.

And the permanent cognitive decline vs neuroplasticity debate has been over since the 70s. Too much time has passed to spread incorrect rumors about it. this video could be awesome but as is could spread some incorrect information that easily could be edited. Also, if you're trying to sell nootropics, the concept of neuroplasticity sells better anyways. Please edit your video.

How can I trust you to know about nootropics when you don't even pronounce it correctly? It is not pronounced 'new-troh-pik' (3 syllables) it is 'noh-eh-troh-pik' (4 syllables). There is a differentiation between the two letter O's in noo. I can't believe how many people get this wrong.
