My 'smart drugs' nightmare – BBC News

So-called “smart drugs” are drugs that can supposedly enhance your cognitive abilities. People all over the world are taking them in universities, offices and the comfort of their own home – to get ahead of the game. One drug, Modafinil – is amongst the most popular. It was labelled in August 2015 as the world’s first “safe” smart drug – off the back of research from Harvard and Oxford University. But is this true? And do “smart drugs” actually work? In this film, our reporter Benjamin Zand tries a drug himself – as he takes a first-hand look inside the world of so-called smart drugs.

So stupid. Experiment with your brain. if you add to a brain that lacks nothing … your brain will stabilize to the new preparation so if you stop you will in this case be duller and dumber. Yess school went really well! Your boss in the future – didi he win his good grades on the lottery ;-))))

You can increase your intelligence with herbs synthetic pills cause brain damage cuz in biofeedback and neurofeedback studys your brainwaves are naturally suppost to go up and down these pills make your brain waves go straight thats why a lot of kids drool stare at the wall and have seizers & crave surgar

I have ADHD my aunt took me off ridalin and had me take St. Johns root its a flower causin to the chamomile it worked amazing cuz ridalin caused me too have seizers I felt uphoric and out of it it hurt my stomach all the time and not side affects from St. Johns word also Albert Einstein had high functioning autism I also have high functioning autism and nature created people to have neurological conditions like ADHD and autism for a good reason because Albert Einstein was able to figure out so many amazing things cuz of his autism we think outside the box a lot more than other people so there's cognitive therapy to help them learn how to control their behavior without using medication and it works really well we need out-of-the-box thinkers in this world i dident do better in school with ridalin either hotel to me in school was a mix of cognitive therapy and biofeedback with strengthens your brain waves and I also learned what type of learner I am on the Roto learner and I noticed that I was able to comprehend what I was reading when I drew a picture of what I read I found unique ways to be able to do homework my IQ is actually really high I just learned differently than most people and when I did Sports it calm down my ADHD but my dad kept taking me out of sports and I would act out again mainly cuz I was bored and needed something to do didn't really get all that much attention from my parents I'm almost surprised sometime she spend time with me but my dad was working two jobs we hardly saw him spending time with your ADHD child can make a huge difference in their behavior when my aunt gave me lots of attention and got me science projects and I behaved a lot better like 95% better I also started sitting in the front of the class cuz I have hearing problems I have hearing dyslexia just look see and sometimes it sounds like people are speaking under the water when they're far away other times I can hear better than most people it kind of goes back and forth cuz with autism you get sensory overload at times it's not 24/7 because it usually gets triggered by stress in school stresses me out cuz it's hard to learn the way the teachers teenage I did have some good teachers when I they put me in special ed eventually I did up taking all normal classes they also use a technique where they put me in a room that's all dark with just a headlight next to me so all I can see was the paper in front of me to help me stay focused are so many things you can do to accommodate yourself instead of taking pills in a lot of times it ADHD and autism calms down when you get older once you learn all the coping methods and your brain develops more you are able to stay, calm everybody's brain biochemicals are different so thats why people can have a different affect on a drug and another can have differ exsperience for example coffee is a stimulant but to an ADHD person it can make us feel sleepy cuz our biochemistry is different than normal people's chemistry so it whether it's a synthetic pill or even natural herb one person's experience could be different than the other person's

So this is drug is like the movie;Limitless.?
Another reality expanding drug is found in our own bodies, which is the most powerful pharmacy known to man,is AMIRT.
AMIRT,the elixir of immortality, is a mixture of reproductive hormones and pineal gland secretions, that if your body produces enough, blows open the brains synapses which allow,s more PRANA,the real GOD particle, to reach the conscious mind.
This is similar to a DMT experience, with the difference being;DMT allows one to converse with representatives of different planes of consciousness. AMIRT-allows one to become those different planes of consciousness.

I remember when I started on Elvanse (Vyvanse) age 31 at 30mg/day. First I felt mildly sleepy, then after an hour I bounced out of bed and asked to borrow a lighter in perfect Welsh (I went to a Welsh medium primary school as a kid). Everything became colourful, not dreamlike as in being stoned, more like everything was in focus and I was noticing things I'd never noticed before. A few jittery panicky moments and all the appetite of Kate Moss on cocaine. Luckily the tense "wired" feeling, appetite loss and vaguely ecstasy-esque emotional lability went away after a week or so. I'm glad, as being a retired stoner I do so enjoy my food and sleep!

I haven't smoked weed in a year, however, as in my case amphetamines don't mix well with cannabis. Still, no interaction with alcohol…

I'm prescribed Modafinil and it's been incredible for treating my shift work sleep disorder. My sleeping schedule has been regulated for the first time in years. I wake up in the morning feeling well-rested instead of exhausted, and I have energy throughout the day now. It's unfortunate that some people will give these drugs a bad reputation by abusing them because for me they've been incredibly helpful.

It's basically the same thing as adderall or any other amphetamine… I used to do it several years ago in college and it wasn't that great…definitely addictive

I've had prescribed modafinil which is made differently from the ones ordered from India. I compared the two and found the scripted ones to work as mentioned. I'm not sure of the process of making both but I would say the Indian variant would go through a less stringent quality control process.

Those spots look like hives…. you're probably allergic.

I was prescribed Nuvigil (Armodafinil) for DSPS (Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome). It gave me extreme Anxiety, extreme focus on things I didn't need to focus on, laser eyed anger, uncontrollable crying, and insomnia. I took it less than a week.

“If you can problem solve better, are you getting smarter?”
Please send your answers to Prof. Babs Lipstick on the back of a Modafinil packet.

Funny how discussions about nootropics rarely mention nicotine – possibly the most effective of all for non-smokers (although your mileage may vary).

I've been on Modafinil for years for narcolepsy and I feel terrible without it. So I would imagine that for a normal person regularly taking it, cessation would make one sub par for quite a while.

Researchers have known how modafinil works for a long time, and have known there are very few long term side effects. Modafanil is prescribed for narcolepsy and is supposed to be used daily, again with little to no side effects.
