I loved Modafinil and took it on pretty regular basis for a few years,
two to three times a week. I ended up doing too much Modafinil a couple
years ago over a period of time and I eventually  over stimulated my
histamine (HA) once too many times. Most research on modafinil's
wake-promoting mechanism has been shown to be caused by simulating
histamine (HA), thus I developed allergys to almost all foods almost
over night, and actually had to go to the doctor for steroid shots. This
is nothing to take lightly, serious stuff, almost had my throat
completely close up from eating spinach of all things, never been
allergic to anything, and I had sores inside my mouth and red spots over
my body after my last couple of doses! My mouth and throat felt like
they were literally on fire! It took almost a year for my body to return
to a pre-Modafinil state. If you get to this point, please stop
Modafinil ASAP because it can, and in some cases has previously led to
"Stevens-Johnson Syndrome". This is a catastrophic and often fatal
adverse reaction to medication that is often described as the body
“burning itself from the inside out.” In more severe cases, the skin
peels off in sheets from large parts of the body, similar to the
after-effects of a third-degree burn injury. There have been a few cases
of this syndrome reported from taking modafinil/armodafinil and my
doctor told me I was in danger for developing Stevens-Johnson Syndrome
if I didn't stop taking Modafinil immediately, scared me straight! This
happened to me after taking Modafinil successfully for close to 3 years seems like overnight.
The first symptoms to develop was a sun burn type redness on my upper
chest that itched after taking modafinil and the more I took it
the redder it got after every dose. This was the beginning of my first allergic reaction which the warnings/precautions in the instructions warn against! Oh, also like in the warnings/precautions, do not drink alcohol on Modafinil, I use to have a couple of drinks to take the edge off at night sometimes, now looking back, I feel this might have been a main contributor to what happened to me, made the symptoms worse! Hope this helps some folks out there. Love your channel!
