Mercola says cooked omega 6 oils become rancid and it's the excess omega-6 linoleic acid (LA) in your diet that is really bad.

Getting wild caught salmon is near impossible here in Aus. Farmed salmon/seafood is another kettle of issues to deal with. IMO high quality fish oil is a good substitute especially when money is tight considering how much it costs for seafood these days.

Avoiding PUFA is my number 1 rule. However I still get 5 to 10 g of it from eggs etc. Do you recommend I supplement with vitamin E?

I use fish oil and feel perfect even my psoriasis is healing …. You can use Co2 critical extract fish oil to avoid rancidity

There is simpler explanation why PUFAs gets as fatter (from fireinabottle blog): both fructose and PUFAs show up in autumn and give us a signal to preserve energy before winter that is is slows metabolic rate and make us fatter so it is just evolutionary adaptation

I don't think the astaxanthin in wild caught seafood is enough to justify eating it several times/week, maybe several times/month, and even then, why? Like Ray said, "essential fatty acids, essential for disease". We don't need them.

Great video – I've made a huge effort to reduce processed seed/veg oils from my diet. However, I noticed there wasn't a single study referencef in this video.

What about olive oil and avocado oil? I just bite into my fish/krill oil every once in a while to test for rancidity.

Omega 3 from a good quality brand can have good effects on health. Then for eating purposes Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, Coconut Oil, and butter are the best.
