Hacking motivation with nootropics
Are you stuck in a career that doesn’t inspire you? Or a relationship that doesn’t excite you? Or a lifestyle that doesn’t fulfill you?
Of the many excuses and issues for this complacency, one problem that surfaces the most is lack of motivation.
In this video, we look at how motivation works in your brain. And how dopamine is not the only neurotransmitter involved in motivation.
Boosting only dopamine with a nootropic will not likely provide the boost in motivation you’ve been promised.
But instead, the reward (or motivation) pathway starts with stimulation of glutamate AMPA-receptors that connect to dopamine neurons. Which in turn follows the pathway to the nucleus accumbens. The brain structure linked to motivation, pleasure and reward.
Rather than boosting overall dopamine levels and hoping for the best. We need to encourage stimulation of glutamate AMPA-receptors to in turn, fire up dopamine neurons. And send dopamine on its way to the nucleus accumbens.
Next, we look at the most potent nootropics we can use to successfully boost the efficiency of the entire dopamine – motivation pathway.
Including the supplements that can influence your glutamate AMPA-receptors. And modulate the effectiveness of the main neurotransmitters that affect the motivation pathway in your brain.

Hello, thank you for the amazing video! I have the following question: I'm new to nootropics and so far I only use caffeine + l-theanine. I would like to add l-tyrosine to it for the dopamine boost, what else can I add, to activate Glutamate AMPA-receptors? I wish to stick to natural sources for now, I'm kind of anxious to start using synthetic nootropics like racetams and noopept.

Dear sir which nootropic is good for motivation. I feel confused and unmotivated in morning
Talal hello
But how can I use lodine to boost my motivation?
Diane Williams
I’ve been trying to supplement with various vitamins and nootropics to deal with my many chronic symptoms, from lack of motivation, insane weight gain, stiffness, depression, sluggishness, etc. I’m taking l-tyrosine along with l-theanine in the morning thinking that will help me with alertness and motivation but I get sleepy and will go back to sleep after a couple of hours of being awake. Then I thought maybe I’m not taking enough l-tyrosine so I doubled the dose this morning and the same thing happened. I slept like a log from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm!
I ordered iodine, alphic gpc, fish oil, aniracetam and pramiracetam and will get them by Monday.
So why do you think is happening to me? Btw, I’m getting miraculous results sans the motivation. I can finally sleep at night, zero body stiffness, zero irritation, zero depression, zero anxiety. (Probably from the other supplements I’m taking. Ashwagandha, B6, zinc, probiotics, D3 + K, magnesium oil).

So. I just bought some aniracetam., because I have bad anhedonia. I also have L-tyrosine, Sam-e. As well as vitamin B complex with Magnesium and Zinc. So, would I need Rhodiola? Aniracetam should be a one stop shop, with the activation of the AMPA receptors, Correct? Am I missing any supplements? What would you recommend? Btw, thank you for all your hard work on your videos. They are so well done. Every one of them!
